CORE/POSTURE/BALANCE DEVELOPMENT: Mike Simonson stresses technique during this class on Tuesdays at 10 am. Mike is a personal fitness trainer and can help you improve functional mobility, maintain good posture and strengthen your core. He has had success teaching his techniques to patients with Parkinsons, fractures and those recovering from joint replacement surgery. He instructs members as he teaches his students at the Fitness Connection to use good form and body mechanics for the most benefit.
PILATES MAT: Erin Owen already has a great following at Laurel Ridge. She teaches how to improve flexibility and balance in this well-rounded, challenging and invigorating class on Mondays at 5:45 pm. Erin is owner of Waynesville Pilates.
BASIC/INTERMEDIATE PILATES: Erin Owen prioritizes safety so this class is very appropriate for low bone density and all levels of fitness. The class is offered Friday mornings at 10:30 am and has a deliberate pace that can be catered to fit each individual’s needs.
TRX: Eileen Corbin, also from the Fitness Connection, holds a weekly class on Wednesday mornings at 9 am. TRX is a new and different approach to fitness for men and women, also known as Suspension Training, that is safe regardless of age, gender or fitness level.
