Weekly Superintendent’s Update 1/29/16

After fighting snow all week, the course was able to open nine holes on Thursday. It will probably be Sunday before sufficient snow melts to allow the entire course to open.  We had to jump around from #15 tree projects to #16 due to snow and ice early in the week.  Once some melting occurred, we were able to return to #15 and finish the entire hole.  Brush was cut from the black tee all the way to the ladies’ tee on the right side.  Crews also cut left of the ladies’ tee on the slope.  On Thursday and Friday, we started working on #16 from the black tee and moving forward.  We are removing trees that make the black tee shot possible again.  After another couple of days on #16 next week, we will move on to #17.  Pin locations were changed today and sticks around the clubhouse and tennis grounds were picked up, along with removal of some large wood from #14 that was snow covered.
