It seems like every summer comes and goes so quickly. This year was no exception. Sadly, 2018 started with the passing of our LRMGA friend, Col. David Crocker. He is greatly missed.
Although we had more than usual LRMGA golf day cancellations in 2018, mainly due to rain, we still managed to get in most of our traditional “Tried and True” formats for fun, fair, friendly, inclusive, and reasonably competitive golf. Plus we were able to play in our other special LRMGA golfing events (also fun, fair, friendly, inclusive, and reasonably competitive golf) including:
- Our annual “Opening Day” golf and luncheon meeting
- The “INDIVIDUAL” and the “TWO MAN TEAM” match play competitions
- The renowned “Hawaiian Shirt Day” golf and luncheon with the LRLGA
- The “President’s Cup” (Two regular season plus one FINAL)
- Season-ending “Doug Van Noppen” Tournament and Awards Banquet
I am very proud to be part of the LRMGA. I feel extremely blessed to be associated with such a great group of friends and have the privilege of playing golf at a high quality country cub with its brilliantly laid out golf course that is continually fun to play. It is also a joy to see so many golfers enjoy the game more (again for some) by moving up to the “Green Tees” . Now, approximately 73.5% of our golfers play the green tees.
We look forward to some new and creative USGA rule modifications starting in 2019 – won’t that be fun and challenging! It is an honor to serve as the president of the LRMGA. Thanks for all of your support and encouragement.
Respectfully, Brian Boeye
LRMGA President, 2018
